Free school meals for pupils up to 16 years old
Registering for Free School Meals can provide valuable support for your family, including:
- Free meals for your child at school
- Additional funding for the school (Pupil Premium), which helps us provide extra support, resources, and opportunities for your child
- Potential help with school uniform, trips, and other costs
Even if your child does not currently take school meals, registering your eligibility is important, as it helps the school access funding that directly benefits your child.
Who is eligible?
You may be eligible for Free School Meals if you receive any of the following benefits:
- Universal Credit (with an annual net earned income of no more than £7,400)
- Income Support
- Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance
- Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
- Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
- The guaranteed element of Pension Credit
- Child Tax Credit (provided you’re not also entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual gross income of no more than £16,190)
- Working Tax Credit run-on (paid for 4 weeks after you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit)
