John Hanson Community School is wholly committed to ensuring that all children and adults who engage with the school as a student or community user of the site, are cared for in a safe and secure environment. To fulfil this commitment, a number of safeguarding arrangements are in place.
Policy and Procedures
We will ensure all policies and procedures in respect of safeguarding children are up-to-date and in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education 2018. The key policies are accessible on the school website and all policies are available for parents and carers via the main reception. Policies and procedures are reviewed and revised by the governing body on a regular basis.
Governing Body Responsibilities
The Full Governing Body has oversight of our safeguarding responsibilities. Governors receive annual training on safeguarding and a number of governors have had specific additional training. There is a designated governor for safeguarding.
