Extra-Curricular

Students are encouraged to discover their own interests and talents, and debate and discuss through our extensive extra-curricular programme. A sample term of extra-curricular activities can be seen here

• On average 1400 students sign in to an extra-curricular club per month
• The PE department have participated in 183 fixtures in 21/22 and 168 in 22/23

Preparing students for life beyond school is taken very seriously at John Hanson and, as such, these experiences are focused on providing students with the learning opportunities they need to become well-rounded adults ready to take their place in the world.

Our extra-curricular programme offers a wide spectrum of opportunities including: a vast selection of day-time or residential excursions, both in the UK and abroad; a wide offering of after-school clubs; as well as support groups for bereavement, exam anxiety and LGBT+.
