Severe Weather Procedure

We will always do our best to keep the school open and if you have not heard anything please assume that it is business as usual.

The school will only close if we have insufficient staff to supervise children or if there are health and safety issues.

In the event of extremely poor weather conditions school closure details will be posted here on the website by 7:00 am. Information will be sent out via our Facebook page and Twitter feed.

Our ParentMail system will be used to send out emails and SMS messages to parents.

Your decision

If you live some distance away you must make your own decision about road conditions and let the school know if your child will not be attending.

If you live within walking distance your child is expected to attend if the school is open.

Please remember:

We will always endeavour to open the school as long as health and safety criteria are met.

Staff need to be able to come to school to teach all classes and ensure appropriate adult – student ratios are met across the school.
The school site has to be safe for the children.
Road safety has to be taken into consideration.
School heating has to be working efficiently.

Making a judgement is always an extremely difficult decision but after assessing all matters a decision will be made by 7.00 am on weather affected days.
