Reminder regarding SALIVA testing + Deadline for 2nd vaccine e-consent + changes to PCR rules

Dear Parents/Carers

Saliva Testing

A reminder that your child should take a SALIVA test every TUESDAY and FRIDAY morning and it should be the first thing they do after waking up – before eating or drinking anything or brushing their teeth.

This is only effective if students are testing twice weekly.

Please remember that the purpose of twice weekly saliva testing is to identify asymptomatic cases. If your child has any symptoms they should take a PCR test ASAP.

Thank you in advance for your continued support.

E-Consent for 2nd COVID Vaccination

The School-Aged Immunisation Team will be in school on the 17th/18th February to offer students aged 12 a 2nd COVID vaccination. Those who were not 12 in November or missed their 1st dose for whatever reason will also be able to get a 1st dose on 1 of these 2 days – more details will follow about the structure of the days nearer the time.

A reminder that Friday 14th February is the deadline for completing the e-consent form to allow your child to receive their 2nd dose. All the details you need are contained in the attached letter – see link below.

Changes to PCR Rules

You may be aware from media announcements that from 11th January, anybody who is asymptomatic, but tests positive via a lateral flow test, NO LONGER needs to take a confirmatory PCR test.
